DIG Main Meeting January 15th Review

 Hi DIG Family,

I wanted to send a quick recap of last night’s meeting and say thanks again to everyone who came out and made it another great night.

Overall, the energy in the room was strong and it was great catching up with so many investors. I had a chance to network with a lot of familiar faces and meet some new ones as well. One highlight for me was helping connect Mykeeya, a very experienced Philly investor, with Sal Felicia of Big Centric. Mykeeya is looking to learn and potentially expand into some markets in Delaware, and since I know Sal lives and invests down there, it felt like a perfect connection. I love seeing those kinds of relationships get started inside the DIG community.

As far as the presentation, Bud Evans came through with an information-packed session on utilizing AI in real estate investing. Honestly, it felt like drinking from a fire hose with the amount of new tools, ideas, acronyms, and terminology coming at me all at once. At first, I’ll admit I was a little frustrated because it felt over my head — I didn’t understand half of the words and acronyms being used — but I also know AI is something I really want to learn and start implementing.

As the presentation progressed though, I started getting more comfortable with the concepts and began to see how I can take some of this information and apply it in a practical way. Even just understanding where to start and what’s possible was a big win for me, and it motivated me to keep learning instead of getting stuck.

Thank you again, Bud, for taking the time to share your knowledge and giving us so much to think about. And thank you to everyone in DIG for continuing to show up, collaborate, and support each other.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting!

Best,

NOTE: I took action from what I learned last night and utilized chatGPT to write that.  I should have used Fyxer, the AI that will integrate into your inbox, read all of your old emails, and figure out your voice so that it sounds like you.
Below is me actually writing the email:
Hey DIG Fam,
Great to see everyone last night, as usual.  We had a great presentation from Bud Evans on utilizing AI in real estate investing.  It was, indeed, like drinking from a fire hose.  I got quite frustrated early on because I didn't understand half of the words and acronyms he was using.  I could tell Bud was a black belt at this stuff while I had only seen a dojo from the outside.  It upset me moreso because I know I need to learn this stuff and want to, as well.  For a while I was in this state of mind but stuck with it and eventually found the first step.  *** On one slide, he had an action plan of what to do week 1, then week 2, 3, and 4.  Now I had some steps to follow to get this off the ground.  While a lot of it was still over my head, ("What the hell is an API? What's an AI agent?  Goddamnit! What language is he speaking?!") I could at least start to follow along and begin to understand how I would use it.  I will figure this out.  When I first started coming to REIA meetings, I didn't understand half the words being used then.
On the networking side of things, I had a load of conversations with new people and familiar faces.  I was happy to be able to help out Philly investor, Mykeeya, who is looking to explore Delaware, by pointing her in the direction of everyone's favorite Big Centric rep, Sal Felicia, who lives and invests down there.  Personal note to Mykeeya, I gave your number to a coworker of mine who has a friend looking for a rental in Strawberry Mansion.
Shout out to Blain of Touch of Color Flooring, one of DIG's vendors.  They recently installed a floor in one of my storefronts in Kensington and it came out excellent.  The subfloor was not in great shape but they handled it after I did some preliminary prep.  What I really appreciated is that they required zero babysitting, arrived when they said they would, and completed it when they said they would.
***Sidenote (and I did not provide this as part of my chatGPT prompt), I often will understand why and have a limited understanding of how to do something, but really understanding the nuts and bolts, aka integrating, is where I need help.  For example, a few years ago I really wanted to get my own marketing machine up and running.  I understood I needed to develop lists, skiptrace them, and get cold callers to make the initial calls.  I also knew what I had to do with the follow up calls with those who expressed interested.  I did NOT understand how to get each step to move smoothly into the next one.  Fortunately, Josh Bacon, one of our own expert wholesalers, took the time to lay it out for me.  Once I had the protocols stepped out, I was able to make moves.  I'm going to go through the same thing here, but hopefully AI get map out the steps for me! "Hey chatGPT, teach me how to use you."
Have a good one,
